We docked at 8 am at Rostock, Germany.
The ride off the ferry and out of the terminal was routine and even Zumo got it right. Sometimes there are so many lanes to choose. We (Zumo and I) then headed for Hamburg. The ride was comfortable and cool for the first 10 kms, and then it began again; the rain, that is! I’m very pleased that road designers provide underpasses so that motorcyclist can stop under them to put on their rain-suits. Thank you. I had just got dressed when another motorbike stopped behind me.
On the way, I found a Mc Café and stopped for a latte and apple cake. I tried to use their internet to update the blog, as the ferry’s internet was to slow through the satellite. Unfortunately that involved giving out my mobile phone number and all the junk mail I get from them It was all in Germany, so I decided to wait until I got to Hamburg. I am inside now enjoying the coffee, so the sun is coming out. LOL.
I managed to ride the last 22 kms to Hamburg without rain.
I am now booked into the Motel One in Hamburg Centrum. You wouldn't believe the car park. I asked the lady where to park the motorbike. She said to ride about 150 metres done the back street where all the people,,,,,,,
(((STOP PRESS))) It's just started raining.
,,,, live in apartments, and then go down into the car park. You will get a ticket when you go down. Just follow the Motel One signs and park you motorbike. Then take the lift up. Wow, the lift is right next to my room, so the bike is parked virtually right under my room! Neat trick, heh?
I am now planning what to see and do while in Hamburg.
